Entrances and paths

An entrance is the door a delivery actually happens at. A path is the route from where you stop to that door. Together they are the most valuable data you can add.

Most failed stops aren’t the wrong address — they’re the wrong door, or no idea how to reach it. Place the entrance where you actually knocked, then trace how you walked there.

What to know before you place one

What an entrance is

An entrance is a specific, usable door on a building — the one a courier should walk up to, not the centre of the roof or the address pin out on the street. A building can have several, and each one belongs to the address it serves.

Main doors, side doors, back doors, basement doors, and separate stairwell doors all count.
Add a new entrance whenever a real door is missing from the map — large buildings often need several.
An entrance always attaches to an address, so check the address shown before you save.

What a path is

A path is the line from where a vehicle can stop to the entrance. It is what turns a pin into directions: which gate to pass, which side of the building to walk around, which stairs to take.

Choose what the path is for: walking, bike, car, truck, or ambulance.
Emergency routes count too — ambulance paths are used by first responders.
Draw the way you actually walked, including the detour around the locked side.

How to place an entrance

You place assets by moving the map under a fixed marker rather than tapping a spot, so you can zoom all the way in and be accurate to the doorstep.

Tap Entrance in the contribute drawer to start placing.
Pan and zoom until the marker sits exactly on the door, then check which address it attaches to.
Save, then add a photo of the door — photos are worth the most HappyPoints of all.

How to draw the path

Right after an entrance is saved, the app asks you to draw its path. Do it while you are still standing there and remember the way in.

Start where a vehicle can realistically stop and end at the entrance you just placed.
Add points along the route so turns, gates, and stairs are visible.
You can skip it and come back later, but an entrance without a path helps far less.
